Original Story (07/08/22): PUMA Hoops has officially unveiled the Stewie 1 ahead of WNBA All-Star 2022 this weekend in Chicago. The signature model for WNBA MVP and Olympian Breanna “Stewie” Stewart marks the first new women’s signature basketball sneaker in over a decade.
The Stewie 1 is equipped with multi-zoned monomesh layered uppers for targeted support, breathability, and comfort, while NITRO Foam technology underfoot provides superior responsiveness and cushioning while remaining lightweight. A molded heel counter provides additional stability and lockdown, marked with scars to represent Stewie’s two Achilles surgeries.
Stewie’s signature sneaker will make its debut in a “Quiet Fire” colorway that combines neon yellow with contrasting black. The aggressive flame molding on the heel morphs into the calming ripples of water in the midsole, showcasing the duality of Stewie’s game and personality. The North Star-inspired upper captures the forward’s brilliant talent and is a nod to her high school team. Stewart will debut the Stewie 1 at the WNBA All-Star Game this Sunday.

The Stewie 1 is the latest in PUMA’s commitment to growing equality for women athletes. The brand launched its Women’s Hoops category in 2021 with creative director June Ambrose at the helm and has since released two Women’s Basketball collections: “High Court” and “About A Bucket.”

Update (09/12/22): The PUMA Stewie 1 “Quiet Fire” will be available starting Friday, September 16th on PUMA.com, at the PUMA NYC Flagship, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and select retailers globally. The accompanying apparel pieces will be available in October.
