Leading accessories brand Fossil and Razer, a lifestyle brand for gamers, are joining forces to launch a new piece of wearable gaming technology, a collaborative take on the Fossil Gen 6 smartwatch. The Gen 6 is the first smartwatch powered by the Snapdragon Wear™4100+ Platform, offering faster application loading time, highly responsive user experiences, and more efficient power consumption.
Aesthetically, the Gen 6 features a 44mm black case and has three interchangeable faces and two custom silicone straps. It takes after Razer’s company design with a green and black color scheme and user interface. As a nod to gamer culture, only 1,337 units will be releasing worldwide.
Razer announced its wellness initiative for gamers, Champions Start From Within, earlier last year. The watch bridges both brands’ commitment to providing wearers with “a smartwatch geared towards gamers’ lifestyle.” Whether it’s to step back from a heavy gaming session with a guided breathing exercise or track sleep after a day of gaming, the watch is set on wellness.
In an effort to not only make users “look good but bring value to their lives as well,” the smartwatch’s technical features improve the wearer’s well-being. It tracks sleep history, senses heart rate, and blood oxygen levels, and helps achieve wellness goals the individuals may have set for themselves. Most importantly, the feature to track sleep duration, and quality of sleep can be useful for them. Gamers tend to stream for many hours late in the night, which can disrupt their sleep cycle.
