Original Story (10/28/20): READYMADE, a Japanese brand founded by Yuta Hosokawa known for its reworkings of second-hand garments and materials, is gearing up to launch a collaboration with Nike. While the full extent of this collab is unknown, we know that it will include a unique take on the Blazer Mid.

This Blazer Mid features a DIY aesthetic, its mostly-black upper contrasted with a morphed Swoosh dressed in Total Orange. Around the collar and on the tongue, we see a grey-on-white camo pattern, while the heel features a triple Swoosh logo and READYMADE branding. The midsole and toe cap’ bumpy texture are also unique to this collab.

Three colorways of the READYMADE x Nike Blazer Mid are expected to drop this holiday season. Grab a first look at one of them below, as well as a sneak peek at a second colorway that’s dressed in grey with a blue Swoosh. Stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for updates.

Update (02/02/21): After receiving a Travis Scott co-sign, the READYMADE x Nike Blazer has a release date. As announced by Yuta Hosokawa, catch both black and white colorways on February 27th, each retailing for $150 USD. The shoe comes packaged in a box made to look like an old trash compactor with graffiti on it, while the wrapping paper features landfill graphics, both as a nod to its recycled construction.

Update (11/02/20): Additional photos of the READYMADE x Nike Blazer Mid have surfaced. Aside from the sustainable use of second-hand garments, it appears that the outsole is made from recycled material. The tongue that reads “NIKE RE” could be a nod to this repurposed/recycled construction.
