Real Madrid & adidas Y-3 Launch Fourth Kit & Collection

Real Madrid and Y-3 reunite for a collection that commemorate two special anniversaries. The legendary football club is celebrating its 120th anniversary, while Y-3, the partnership between Yohji Yamamoto and adidas, rings in its 20th year.

After collaborating on the club’s third kit for the 2014/15 season, the two expand their partnership this season with a broader range of pieces for both on and off the pitch. The collaboration incorporates Yamamoto’s signature black aesthetic and fuses sporting innovation with avant-garde designs.

Headlining the collection is the black fourth kit with white accents and a pink goalkeeper kit. The jerseys feature “hand-painted” stripes and names on numbers on the back. The capsule also offers outerwear with a Light Shell Anthem Jacket and Pants featuring reflective prints and laser-cut details. The off-pitch pieces include a tee, elongated scarf, and washbag.

The collaboration comes to life in the campaign video, titled “The Ceremony,” which can be viewed above. The visuals follow an ethereal vision of two lovers who, guided by the past, walk into their future. Joining the lovers are a cast of observers that includes members of Real Madrid men’s and women’s first teams as well as club legend Iker Casillas. The kits will be worn by Real Madrid when they host FC Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabéu on Sunday, March 20th.

The Real Madrid x adidas Y-3 collection is available now via adidas.com, the Real Madrid online store, and Real Madrid retail locations.
