In the day of insta everything, it’s interesting to see what hasn’t changed. Though it has been twenty years since the Air Jordan 8 “Bugs Bunny” was originally released, it’s re-release today had people lining up outside shoe stores world wide. However, 1993 was a pivotal year for more than just the world of sneakers. Though the 1984 launch of the Jordan line propelled Nike into the realm of pop culture, linking with Warner Bros. in 1993 permanently secured the brand a spot in history. Associating Michael Jordan with a highly established household name, brought never before seen attention to the sneaker game, and proved to be the start of a fruitful relationship for the two companies. From the court-to television-to the kid next door, everybody was on the Jordan/Bugs Bunny train, and twenty years later that nostalgia has yet to wear off.
