The New York Knicks have named Kith founder Ronnie Fieg as the team’s first-ever creative director.

The Fieg x Knicks partnership kicked off in 2020 when Kith launched its first official Knicks collection and Fieg was tasked with designing the team’s City Edition Uniform. The partnership continued to following year with Fieg designing the 2021 City Edition uniforms, dropping a second Kith x Knicks collection, unveiling a newly designed court at Madison Square Garden, as well as a refurbished playground court in Queens. Now in its third year, the partnership is taken to a new level with Fieg’s appointment to creative director.

“The opportunity came about a few seasons into designing the City Edition uniforms and the growing relationship between myself and their marketing team.” says Ronnie Fieg. “I think they saw the passion I have for the team and wanted to evolve what we’ve been doing with Kith into something more. Long conversations about what the Knicks mean to the League and to the world helped shape the opportunity to really do some special things.”

“I think the immediate work calls for consistency in how you view the Knicks as a brand and help grow that to more of a global identity in the long run,” continue Fieg. “I feel that many people love the team, and it’s going to be my responsibility that they also all love the brand the same way I do.”

Other NBA teams have made similar moves in recents years. The Chicago Bulls named Don C as their new Creative Strategy and Design Advisor back in February, while the Cleveland Cavaliers appointed Daniel Arsham as creative director in 2020.

To celebrate the occasion, Kith and the New York Knicks present Kith Night at Madison Square Garden tonight as the Knicks face off against the Detroit Pistons. The team will debut their 2022-23 City Edition uniforms, inspired by the 1999-2003 Knicks uniform, bridging the gap between past and present.

The new Kith x Knicks collection, as seen on Raekwon and Ghostface Killah, will be available ahead of its official release at a pop-up at Chase Square at Madison Square Garden, which opens to the public at 5:30pm ET, prior to the game’s tip-off at 7:30pm ET.

Every fan attending Kith night will be gifted a copy of the Kith for SLAM Commemorative Knicks Magazine upon entry, which features Derrick Rose and Jalen Brunson on the cover. Fans will also find a collaborative towel created with the Knicks and Stella Artois on their seat. Concession stands throughout the arena will serve beverages in co-branded Kith for Knicks cups, and Kith Treats will be serving the Fiegster ice cream special to select seats. During breaks in the game, tees from the collection will be launched into the stands, in addition to a few other surprises in store for attendees.

The Kith for New York Knicks 2022-23 collection releases this Saturday, November 12th, at all Kith shops, 11am ET on Kith.com, 11AM CET on EU.Kith.com, and on the Kith App. Check out the campaign imagery and product shots below.
