Original Story (09/14/21): NFL football is back! New York Giants RB Saquon Barkley has made his return to the field for Week 1, shaking off some of the rust after being out with a torn ACL since early last season. In celebration of his return, Nike is releasing a Saquon Barkley version of the Air Trainer III.
The Air Trainer III originally released in 1998 and was made for Bo Jackson, an inspiration of Barkley’s who knows a thing or two about comebacks. The Barkley version comes dressed in white perforated leather with Sail overlays. Pops of bright colors accent the shoe throughout. Green is used on the Saquon logos on the heels, the Velcro on the straps, and the inside of the tongue. A crimson pink is used on the midsole, while blue is used on the Swooshes. These colors are also found on the tongue tags, which feature Saquon’s number 26. Additional hits of Solar Orange are used for the mini Swoosh on the toe and parts of the outsole. Another detail is the black stripes that cover the left lateral Swoosh, a nod to Saquon’s preference of wearing eye black under his left eye.

Reflective details pay homage to the NYC’s construction zones, while accompanying gold chains acts as “shoellery” that reflects Saquon’s unique sense of style.
