Original Story (01/03/20): While a Sean Wotherspoon x atmos x ASICS collab is on the way, the Round Two co-founder has confirmed another upcoming collab, this time with the Three Stripes.
In an interview with Complex, Sean says that his adidas collab will put an emphasis on his passion for sustainability and eco-friendly materials. The sneaker will also feature floral print and embroidery.
“It’s going to be a huge step forward in sustainability and a lot different than what you have seen from me in the past as far as materials,” Wotherspoon tells Complex. “Can’t wait to start the roll out, this is going to be a fun one! I grew up playing soccer, it was actually my first love before skateboarding. Always wore adidas, head to toe, I LOVE Sambas, used to buy them at Modell’s and Sports Authority. Started wearing Nike when skateboarding came in to my life so it’s fun digging even further into my own memories and finding that adidas love as well that existed.”
Early last month, Sean seemingly announced his adidas collab with an Instagram post which he quickly deleted after posting. The image featured crudely drawn flowers above the adidas Trefoil logo and Sean’s peace sign motif. Update (03/28/20): Sean Wotherspoon has shared a new photo of what is believed to be the SW x adidas Super Earth. The photo shows a message printed on the tag on the inside of the tongue, “The truth is that this shoe alone will not save the planet. However, we challenged our creation process to find more sustainable solutions. Consider this a commitment for continous innovation in the field of sustainability.”
In the background of the photo we see a white shell-toe, confirming that the Super Earth is Sean’s take on the Superstar. Check out the photo below and stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for updates on the Sean Wotherspoon x adidas Originals Super Earth.
