Original Story (05/28/20): While fans lie in wait for news on his first adidas collaboration, Sean Wotherspoon has taken to Instagram to tease another collab with the Three Stripes.
Wotherspoon, one of the owners of the vintage and resale behemoth Round Two, first made waves in the sneaker community with his Air Max 1/97 in 2018. Since then, however, Wotherspoon has teased projects with both Asics and adidas.
Although details on his newest project are scarce, the model appears to be part of the adidas ZX line, possibly a ZX 8000. It’s clearly branded with “Super Earth,” which is also seen in teaser images of Wotherspoon’s upcoming adidas Superstar, as well as the designer’s initials. It also seems likely that the shoe will incorporate some form of sustainable manufacturing practices or materials, as Wotherspoon’s Super Earth Superstar foregrounds sustainability in its design. Finally, the new model appears to show plaid paneling and continues the colored thread motif seen in teaser images of his Superstar model.
Check out Wotherspoon’s teaser image below and stay tuned for updates as the Sean Wotherspoon x adidas ZX “Super Earth” continues to be revealed.
