UK retailer size? is bringing the adidas Athen out the vault once again, this time reissuing the rare Made In Japan colorways.
The adidas Athen is an early City Series design originally launched in 1968 to commemorate the Olympics. Though the games were held in Mexico City that year, the shoe gets its name from the Olympics’ origins in ancient Greece. The shoe is rarely re-issued, though size? has dropped some exclusive colorways of the model over the years, the most recent being a black/yellow colorway in 2021.
size? is now set to bring back the ultra-rare adidas Athen “Made in Japan” colorways. These were made and sold exclusively in Japan in the late 20th century, the most recent being the Purple/Citron colorway in the early ’90s. Along with the Purple/Citron, size? is also bringing back the red/yellow, red/green, and blue/green colorways.
