size? x ‘The Godfather’ x PUMA Palermo Capsule Release Date

Original Story (08/10/21): Following a look at the UK-based retailer’s first-ever Nike Dunk Low collab, size? has unveiled its full list of collaborations for Fall/Winter 2021. Of the 30 different limited edition products, ones that stand out are the three PUMA Palermo sneakers made in collaboration with the iconic film The Godfather.

To celebrate the Palermo being unleashed from the PUMA vault, the master storytellers at size? made sure to put Sicily at the heart of the narrative in their collaboration. The Palermo comes in three colorways, each highlighting an important scene and location in the classic 1972 film. There’s “The Wedding,” which comes in a color palette that captures the greenery of the film’s opening scene. “The Bar” comes in a color scheme inspired by Bar Vitelli, where Michael Corleone meets the father of his future wife. The bright red Formstripe is the exact shade of red of the famous bar sign. Lastly, we have “The Restaurant,” whose vibrant blue and pink color scheme is inspired by the neon bulbs that flood the Louis Restaurant with atmospheric hues.

Each shoe also comes with an iconic line from the film hidden under the eyelet flap. “We go to the mattresses” is printed in gold foil on “The Wedding” colorway, “The Bar” features the line “Leave the gun, take the cannoli,” and the line on “The Restaurant” colorway is “It’s not personal, it’s strictly business.” Additional gold foil details include the size? branding on the heels, The Godfather and size? branding on the insoles, and The Godfather branding on the tongues.

Update (01/27/22): size? has officially announced the release of its PUMA Palermo The Godfather capsule. All three pairs will be available via raffle on the size?launches app. Entries will be accepted from January 29th until February 3rd.
