Fresh on the heels of their rugged Converse collection back in March, Italian streetwear linchpins Slam Jam have unveiled their upcoming New Balance 991 capsule collection.
Continuing Slam Jam’s work on an extremely limited New Balance 990v3 in 2019, the model uses an accessible – yet almost intimidating – greyscale color palette. The 991’s midsole is split into white and gunmetal grey, while grey and silvery paneling adorn a black mesh upper. Tough black pigskin leather paneling, reflective insoles, and a cool grey N logo finish off the collaborative colorway.
In conjunction with the shoe, Slam Jam is also continuing their search for the “ultimate uniform” with a small but mighty apparel collection featuring a black anorak and black track pants. Both feature loose, relaxed fits for increased range of movement, and each piece is co-branded and features adjustable bungee cuffs.

The gear is set to release globally via Slam Jam’s site on May 7th with a raffle for the 991s open now. The products drop the same day at Slam Jam’s in-person stores and New Balance’s iconic store in Shap, UK, close in proximity to New Balance’s Made in UK factory. A global release is set for May 13th.
