Sneaker Freaker x atmos x ASICS GEL-LYTE III “Alley Cats” Release Date

0

Original Story (06/04/22): atmos has revealed an upcoming collaboration with Sneaker Freaker magazine and ASICS SportStyle. Together they present an “Alley Cats” colorways of the classic GEL-LYTE III. The shoe is also featured on the cover of Sneaker Freaker Issue #47.

While atmos recently presented its own rodent-themed New Balance 2002R, this upcoming GEL-LYTE III pays homage to one of rats’ arch-nemeses, the cat. More specifically, the pair pays tribute to the stray cats found in the alleys of the hometowns of atmos and Sneaker Freaker, them being Tokyo, Japan and Melbourne, Australia.

The pair comes in a royal purple, grey, and with color scheme and features a fun mix of materials in its construction. Hairy grey faux fur paneling appears on the heels and side panels, while the rest of the upper incorporates suede, leather, stain, and more. Another fun twist is that the white side stripes and toe cutouts glow in the dark and shine in a minty green hue that matches the center part of the outsoles. Additional features include mismatching Sneaker Freaker and atmos branding debossed on the heels, a white midsole with a purple speckled midsection, and mismatching graphic insoles.

Grab a first look at the Sneaker Freaker x atmos x ASICS GEL-LYTE III “Alley Cats” below. Expect these to drop later this year via atmos and select stockists. Stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for updates.
