Social Status of James Whitner’s Whitaker Group is back with the official announcement of its Air Max Penny 2 collaboration, following the release of the Air Max Penny 1 “Recess” project earlier this year.

The announcement is accompanied by a short film titled “Playground” directed by the Turner Brothers, continuing the story from the “Recess” and “Free Lunch” short films from previous Social Status x Nike projects.

First leaked back in March, the Social Status Air Max Penny 2 comes in two colorways, Black/White and White/Blue, each a nod to the OG Orlando-themed colorways of the Air Max Penny 2 that first released in 1996. Special features include a mini Penny 2 hangtag and action figure-inspired packaging that nods to the Lil Penny character featured in ’90s Nike commercials.

The Social Status x Nike Air Max Penny 2 “Playground” in the Black/White colorway launches on September 30th on the Social Status website, with in-store and online raffles now open. The White/Blue colorway will launch at a later date TBA. Check out the short film above and stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for updates.
