Celebrate the 25th Anniversary of “Space Jam” In Style

The iconic film Space Jam released in theaters 25 years ago today. After a cultural revival earlier in the year with the sequel starring LeBron James, WarnerMedia Global Brands and Experiences is now proper celebrating the 25th anniversary of the OG with a few film-inspired merchandise collections, an NFT drop, a new digital comic from DC, and more.

Space Jam: A New Legacy hit the big screen this year, rising to the top of the box office and scoring the biggest family film opening of 2021. The original film, which was released in 1996, catapulted movie merchandising into what we know today. Space Jam became the No. 1 grossing basketball film of all time and its soundtrack went six times platinum. The original film can now is now available on HBO Max for the new generation to enjoy.

To kick off the celebrations, NTWRK is presenting a “Space Jam” ’96 home goods collection which features rugs by Rugtomize and an exclusive print by artist Aaron Kai print. These launch today, November 15th on the NTWRK app.

As for apparel, the Warner Bros.’ Looney Tunes Shop has unveiled a fourth drop in the ACME Intern collection. Original artwork from the film graces pieces like t-shirts, long sleeves, crewnecks, tanks, hoodies, and more. One of the tees features the home page of the original 1996 Space Jam website, which is still up and running today.

DJ Steve Aoki’s fashion and music label, Dim Mak, also created a limited-edition capsule. The offering includes nostalgic t-shirts and hoodies decked in colorful tie-dye and classic black iterations. The Tune Squad takes front and center, featuring main characters and scenes from the movie.

Basketball’s greatest moments will be reimagined through a collab between House of Highlights and DOC (Dustin O. Canalin). The collection, launching November 23rd, will honor the film while presenting a fresh perspective of basketball history.

For fans of comic books, DC has created a free 25th anniversary Space Jam comic book that can be downloaded from the Stellar Souvenirs page of the original Space Jam website. The storyline follows the Looney Tunes post-credits, ultimately landing them face-to-face with the Monstars and Nerdlucks once again.

Finally, Nifty’s “Starting 5” Challenge kicks off today, November 15th. For the challenge, fans are encouraged to collect as many Tune Squad or Good Squad NFTs from “Space Jam: A New Legacy” as they can before January 13th. For every five NFTs featuring an individual player on either team that a user owns, they will receive a limited-edition Monstar NFT.
