Before founding her own label Sporty & Rich, Emily Oberg started out her fashion career by covering streetwear and sneaker collaborations at Complex. Things have now gone full circle, as Sporty & Rich is now gearing up to release its own collaborative collection with adidas Originals.
Inspired by the Sporty & Rich’s ethos of wellness and self-care, the collection is comprised of elevated takes on iconic adidas footwear and vintage sportswear. Three sneakers are included in the offering: a collegiate burgundy version of the Campus 80s, a white and green makeover of the Samba OG, and a white and collegiate burgundy colorway of the Stan Smith. Each are constructed from premium materials and are equipped with a Sporty & Rich pearl key ring to add to the luxurious aesthetic.
The accompanying womenswear selection is highlighted by a contemporary take on the Firebird Tracksuit, a timeless silhouette born in the ’80s. Sporty & Rich elevates the tracksuit with details such as metal zipper pulls, co-branded embroidery, and two sophisticated, vintage-inspired color schemes: green with white accents and white with collegiate burgundy accents. Each garment features an in internal print emblazoned with Sporty & Rich’s inspirational wellness mantra.
The campaign visuals are in line with Sporty & Rich’s overall aesthetic, combing sporting heritage with luxury and relaxation.
The inaugural adidas Originals x Sporty & Rich collection launches on November 22nd on adidas CONFIRMED and the Sporty & Rich website.
