Teased earlier this week, Chicago streetwear boutique Saint Alfred has given an official look at their Vans Vault Summer 2019 collab.

After being allowed into the Vans archives, Saint Alfred general manager Frank DiGiovanni found an “acid wash effect hidden under overlay palms and geometric shapes and patterns” that caught his eye and decided to remove everything but the Acid wash effect and applied it as a print to the Authentic LX heavy canvas upper in two different colorways: Acid/Black for a simple easy look and Acid/Pesto for a more summertime aesthetic. The Acid washed print pays homage to the skate and surf culture of Vans Southern California hometown where the acid wash process started. Completing the look is Vans checkerboard print wrapped around the midsole of the shoe. Saint Alfred also got together with Chicago artist Ben Marcus to create a limited edition risograph print that will come with any in-store purchase of the shoes.

The Acid/Black pair will be available in-store at Saint Alfred and their sister store KICK/HI on August 9th on a first-come-first-serve basis with an online release of any remaining pairs on saintalfred.com at 2 p.m. CST. The more limited Acid/Pesto pair will only be available in-store at Saint Alfred. Take a look at the collaboration below and the illustrations by Ben Marcus.
