Original Story (07/28/22): Stray Rats continues its partnership with New Balance with a collaboration on the MT580.
Following up the 991s released late last year, the Stray Rats x New Balance MT580 is a blast from the past, reimagining a silhouette first launched in 1996 in Japan, later introduced in the US in 2007. In recent years, however, the silhouette has remained mostly dormant, making its reintroduction with Stray Rats a much-welcomed one.
The Stray Rats MT580 will be releasing in two colorways, both in a bold color blocking in true Stray Rats fashion. One pair features a metallic blue synthetic base with dark nubuck overlays and pops of pink, blue, and lime green. The other features a purple base with maroon overlays and backs of olive green and yellow-orange. Both pairs come with green Rollbar midsoles (though in different hues) and purple rubber outsoles.

Update (10/26/22): Following the drop on the Stray Rats website, the SR 580s will be receiving a wider release on Friday, October 28th via NewBalance.com and select retailers.
Update (10/17/22): The Stray Rats x New Balance MT580 launches on Wednesday, October 19th at Varsity Los Angeles and Lower East Coast in Miami, followed by an online raffle release on the Stray Rats website on October 20th.
