Stray Rats has reconnected with Marc Jacobs for their second collaboration, following the release of their “Year of the Rat” collection in early 2020. This duo team up on a “Ratgirl in Heaven,” collection, a union of Ratgirl, Stray Rats’ women’s-focused brand, and Heaven, the trendy Marc Jacobs sub-label centered around subversion and DIY spirit spearheaded by Brooklyn designer Ava Nirui.
“Ratgirl In Heaven” was created by Nirui and Stray Rats founder Julian Consuegra and centers around drawings, graphics, and thoughts that were scribbled in Consuegra’s sketchbook. These scratchy, manic-feeling illustrations are transformed into prints, embroidery, and knits in Heaven signature styles. Tops in the 11-piece capsule include two ringer tees, a longsleeve mesh tee, and a loose knit fluffy sweater. A blue “3D Ratgirl Princess” all-over print covers the collection’s mini satin slip dress and puffy nylon shoulder bag. Rounding out the capsule is a selection of silver brass jewelry: a necklace, hair pin, ring, and hoop earrings.
