Following last week’s drop that featured a collab with The North Face, this week’s Supreme release is highlighted by a collection that celebrates the cult ’90s animated series Æon Flux.
Æon Flux premiered in 1991 as part of MTV’s Liquid Television, a late-night animation showcase that also birthed Beavis and Butt-Head. The avant-garde science fiction series is widely regarded as groundbreaking, both for its cinematic visual style and its subversive approach to animated storytelling. A live-action film starring Charlize Theron loosely based on the series was released in theaters in 2005.
Supreme’s collection includes varsity jackets, crewneck sweaters, soccer jerseys, hoodies, shorts, and short and long-sleeve tees, each adorned with artwork from the animated series. Along with artwork, select pieces also feature an iconic quote from the series: “Blink once, you’re dead. Blink twice, you’re buried.”
The Supreme x Æon Flux collection will be available on Thursday, March 31st at Supreme locations and on the Supreme website. Available in Japan April 2nd.
