Supreme Releases Collection in Collaboration with NYC Artist Clayton Patterson

Along with a collaboration with Dr. Martens, this week’s Supreme drop features a collection made in collaboration with prominent NYC artist, photographer and videographer Clayton Patterson. Patterson is known for his activism and documentation of the unique character of Manhattan’s Lower East Side over the last four decades.

In the mid-80s, Patterson and his partner Elsa Rensaa began chainstitching Patterson’s folkloric illustrations onto wide-brim baseball caps, thus forming Clayton Caps. Being the first caps to feature embroidery across the sides, back, and visor, Clayton Caps became ubiquitous throughout Lower Manhattan, and their distinctive style has since been widely adopted.

Supreme and Clayton Patterson’s Spring 2021 collaboration features a range of apparel and caps, each piece embroidered with Patterson’s original artwork. The collection consists of a reversible velvet MA-1 jacket, a work shirt, jeans, and 5-panel cap.

Select pieces from the Clayton Patterson x Supreme Spring 2021 collection will be available on Thursday, April 8th at Supreme locations worldwide and on the Supreme website. Select pieces will be available in Japan on April 10th.
