Supreme Is Dropping a Public Image Ltd Collab

0

This week’s Supreme drop features a collaboration with experimental post-punk band Public Image Ltd (PiL).

PiL was formed by John Lydon in London in 1978 shortly after leaving the Sex Pistols. The band is regarded as one of the most innovative of all time, with a unique sound that blends rock, dance, folk, pop, and dub. You also can’t talk about PiL without talking about Keith Levene, who founded PiL with Lydon after leaving The Clash. Levene passed away just this past Friday at the age of 65, making this release a bit bittersweet.

Supreme’s PiL collection includes a wardrobe staple for Londoners, the classic trenchcoat, which on the back features the PiL logo and “This Is What You Want… This Is What You Get,” the name of the band’s 1984 album. The band’s logo also appears on baseball tops, tees, 5-panel hats, and as a repeating print on a button-up shirt and sweatshorts. Rounding out the collection is a photo tee based on PiL’s 1983 live album Live in Tokyo.

The Supreme x PiL collection drops this Thursday, November 17th at Supreme locations and on the Supreme website.
