Yohji Yamamoto is one of the most influential fashion designers living and working today. Probably best known in the current streetwear landscape for his Y3 line in collaboration with adidas, the master craftsman with a rebellious spirit is now teaming up with Supreme on a massive collection for the New York streetwear label’s Fall 2020 season.
Yohji’s masterful draping and playful androgyny disrupted conventional wisdom about the possibilities of modern clothing, and earned him a dedicated following worldwide. For nearly 50 years, Yohji has broken down barriers between catwalk and street, luxury and sport, tradition and the avant-garde, and continues to do so to this day.
The collection features a Leather Work Jacket, Down Jacket, Parka, Wool Suit, Sweater, Shirt, Hooded Sweatshirt, Crewneck, five T-Shirts and a Beanie. Artwork that adorns the pieces includes spray-painted graphics by Chito, imagery from art director and graphic designer Peter Saville, and sketched work from painting and drawing artist Yuuka Asakura.
The Supreme x Yohji Yamamoto collection will be available globally via Supreme in-store and online on September 17th, with a September 19th release in Japan.
