Last September, it was revealed that online community The Basement has a collaboration with New Balance in the works. Two colorways of the 2002R were revealed as part of the project: one in olive green, the other in white/grey. The Basement is now officially launching its New Balance 2002R collab, though its with a never-before-seen “Earth Brown” colorway.
This 2002R will be a “Group Exclusive,” purchasable only on The Basement Facebook group, which currently has slightly over 132,000 members. It comes dressed in a tonal mix of brown and taupe hues and is constructed from premium materials including waterproof heavy suede and textured rubber. Contrasting black hits are utilized throughout, such as on the toe caps, heel guards, tongues, N logos, and sole units. Additional details include 3M accents, The Basement’s OG logo on the heels, BSMNT logos on the tongues, lace tips and insoles, The Basement’s ‘9 Bar’ logo laser cut into the ’N’ logos, and a ‘B’ replacing the usual ’N’ on the throat panels.
The Basement x New Balance 2002R “Earth Brown” launches on Sunday, April 24th at 3PM BST exclusively via The Basement’s online community. Though no new members will be added prior to the drop, you can send a request to join the Facebook group here to become a future member of the community.
