The Basement. What started as a UK-based Facebook group for buying, selling, and trading sneakers and streetwear has grown into a global community that defies categorization. With a couple Nike collabs over the years, The Basement is now teaming up with New Balance for their own 2002R.

The 2002R has become a fan-favorite silhouette this year, with coveted releases including collabs with Salehe Bembury and BAPE and the in-line “Refined Future” pack. The Basement’s take on the model comes in two colorways, one in bone white and grey, the other in olive green hues. Each feature a premium suede construction with black nubuck overlays on the toe and heel. Nine horizontal lines dress the the N logos, pulled from The Basement’s logo which can be found on the heels. Additional The Basement branding appears on the tongue and insoles. Black N-Ergy gel midsoles and rubber outsoles rounds out the design.

Check out both The Basement x New Balance 2002R colorways below. These popped up for a bit on JD Sports UK, though are no longer up on their site. It is likely that this is a UK exclusive release. Stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for updates.
