The North Face x Hender Scheme SS21 is Wild

After a stunning collaboration last year, The North Face Japan is reuniting with Hender Scheme to create a highly innovative collection of footwear and bags that ooze Hender Scheme’s signature attention to material and detail.

Spearheading the collection is the HS Climbing Diversity, a co-branded 2-in-1 concept that morphs a rugged Vibram 2146S Clean Trek-soled behemoth into something resembling a gorpcore creeper shoe. Using jersey mesh and high-end cow leather, the shoe’s upper serves as a stylish holster for a removable woven inner bootie that can be worn around the tent or campsite (almost reminiscent of the New Balance TDS x Snow Peak Niobium). The shoe will come in two colorways—one triple black and one featuring yellow stitching and a red toggle lacing system. Accompanying the HS Climbing Diversity is the HS Ultra Stratum PRO sandal, a high-end reinterpretation of a hiking sandal. The sandal seamlessly merges high end purse-like leather straps with rugged nylon webbing that would be equally at home on a Teva, all atop a tough-as-nails EVA and Vibram rubber outsole.

Alongside the footwear, Hender Scheme and TNF Japan have crafted a set of tasteful and relatively stripped-back set of Cordura bags to keep your gear safe. The collection’s recrafted The North Face Shuttle Daypack features leather detailing and carrying handles, even sporting a zip-off sachoche on the bag’s front face. The HS Glam Travel Kit, on the other hand, features three removable, expanding inner pockets for color-coded organization.

You can take a look at the collection down below. Hender Scheme will begin raffling off some of the collection on April 9th, but a full launch will take place via Hender Scheme’s website on April 30th. The drop will likely be exclusive to Japan. You can explore the collection further on Goldwin’s website and take a look at the pieces in action down below.
