Sneakers and the game of basketball get a lot of love and appreciation from the people of the Philippines, so much so that Nike has asked Filipino retailer Titan to collab on a special makeover of the Nike LeBron 16 Low. The “Agimat” colorway was seen previously on the LeBron 14 and LeBron Soldier 12, but this third rendition marks the first collaboration with Titan.
The Nike LeBron 16 Low “Agimat” tells the story of LeBron’s journey from warrior to king and is inspired by Filipino folklore. On the heels are Titan’s thunderbolt logo on the left shoe, paired with LeBron’s crown logo on the right shoe. Surrounding the logos are embossed writings inspired by the Bagobo tribe’s traditional armor. More logos are hidden behind the zipper that runs down the middle of the shoe, including an “MNL” logo that serves as a shout-out to the city of Manila, and a flame logo that symbolizes both the volcanoes in the Philippines and LeBron’s intense passion.
The Titan x Nike LeBron 16 Low “Agimat” will be available on August 31 at nike.com in Southeast Asia and North America as well as Titan retail stores, the Titan app and titan22.com. Titan will also be having a special pre-launch event on August 22nd, details here.
