Todd Snyder x Converse Jack Purcell “Rebel Prep” Collection

0

Todd Snyder is no stranger to well-placed collaborations, evidenced by the four New Balance sneaker projects in 2021. The New York designer is leading his creative endeavors into the new year with the help of Converse.

The collection of apparel bridges streetwear with “traditional gentleman’s fabrics” and places an emphasis on Jack Purcell, the world badminton champion who designed the Converse shoe model that bears his name. It’s set on classic silhouettes like crewnecks, fishtail parkas, joggers, cardigans, matching sets, and more. Material strays from varsity-inspired ribbing to velvet, mixing patterns like camo, plaid, and traditional color blocking. To round out the capsule, a fishing hat and utility bag are added as accessories.

As for the footwear, Snyder and Converse use the Chuck 70 and Jack Purcell Ox shoes. The latter features a patterned, camo-like finish. It’s combined with details such as a tan leather mudguard and wax-covered lace tips. The Chuck 70 Hi goes for a similar color palette and construction, swapping the base for a waxed cotton from British Millerain. Both feature materials typically found on clothing and common details such as orange accents, white tongue and heel pull tabs, and cork insoles.

The Todd Snyder x Converse Jack Purcell “Rebel Prep” collection will drop January 27 at 11am ET on the the Todd Snyder website. There’s also an ongoing raffle for the Chuck 70 that will end January 24 at midnight. Check out the lookbook photos below.
