When the NIKECRAFT General Purpose Shoe (GPS) launched earlier this month, many were left empty-handed as demand far exceeded the supply. Quickly following the drop, Tom Sachs released a statement on his socials dissuading fans from purchasing the GPS from a reseller.
“RESTOCK AUGUST 2022 If you missed out today – Do NOT worry, this is not your last chance to buy this shoe. You will NOT be left turning to resellers,” says Tom Sachs in an Instagram post. “The General Purpose Shoe is designed to be a perennial. It will be restocked and accessible again.”
It appears from this statement that many more pairs of the GPS are on the way, so many in fact that the shoes will be “perennial” and readily available year-round. Another possible indicator that this is true is that, aside from the debut “Studio” and leaked “Dark Sulfur” pair, three other GPS colorways have also recently surfaced.
These three colorways were shared on Instagram by @soleearly, an account that claims to have access to samples and early pairs, though we can’t verify the authenticity of these three specific pairs. One comes dressed primarily in grey with a white Swoosh and orange pull tabs. The other two feature a cream upper, similar to the original “Studio” colorway, though they come with white midsoles. One comes with a red Swoosh and orange pull tabs, while the other has a black Swoosh a red pull tabs.
