Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 Remastered Drops This September

This is not a drill. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 have been remastered for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC and it will be dropping on September 4th. The announcement was made today in celebration of Hawk’s 52nd birthday.

The first two games in the THPS series are being bundled together along with new features like online play and a more advanced map builder. All of the original levels, characters, and tricks return in 4K along with extra challenges, a better create-a-park mode where you can share your parks online, and brand-new local and online multiplayer modes. “The vast majority” of the original soundtrack also returns, though not every song is included due to licensing issues.

From the sound of it, players will be able to dip in and out of both THPS 1 and 2, and in doing you can unlock content for the overall meta game. “We didn’t want the game to be ‘Okay, you play Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1, and then play THPS2 and start over from scratch, just like you would have if you bought the games back in the day,” says Simon Ebejer, COO of Vicarious Visions, the studio that is handling the remaster. “The meta that sits over top of everything allows players to not feel like they’re losing progress by playing either one of the games.”

Those who preorder the game digitally will get first access to the Warehouse demo, available at a later date TBA. Check out the announcement trailer above and stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for updates. PC pre-orders available on epicgames.com.
