Update (9/14/19): There is debate online whether this pair of sneakers is a sample pair from Nike or the custom “What The Scrap” by The Shoe Surgeon. According to @ryivibes, Nike created a sample based off of the design of Shoe Surgeon’s customs.

“What The Scrap” Travis Scott Air Jordan 1 by The Shoe Surgeon

To add to the confusion, today Cleveland Browns WR Odell Beckham Jr. and his girlfriend Lolo Wood both shared photos on their Instagram stories rocking the “What The Scrap” TS Air Jordan 1. It’s unconfirmed whether they’re wearing sample pairs or Shoe Surgeon’s customs, but it is most likely the latter. Take a look for yourself below and scroll down for the original story.

Original Story (8/15/19): The Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 released earlier this year in a “Sail/Black-Dark Mocha-University Red” colorway to critical acclaim. One of the most sought after releases of the year, a pair currently goes for well over a rack on StockX. Recently, @ryivibes on Instagram shared photos of an unreleased version of the sneaker dressed in a multi-color upper, reminiscent of a “What The?” or Viotech colorway.

Each panel of this sample is dressed in different fabrics and includes shades of brown, tan, grey, navy, black, and sail. Some of the features that made it to the final product are seen in this pair, such as the reverse Swoosh and the Cactus Jack branding. The brown and white of the final product is also seen in the toe area of one of the sneakers in the pair.

As is the fate of most sneaker samples, it is unlikely that this colorway will ever see the light of day, but thankfully Travis and Nike still have heat on the way in the form of an Air Jordan 6, an Air Max 270, and possibly another Air Force 1. Check out more photos of the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 “Multi-Color” sample below and stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for news on future Cactus Jack releases.
