After some early leaks, we now have official release info on the Trophy Room x Air Jordan 1.
This Air Jordan 1, made in collaboration with Michael Jordan’s son Marcus Jordan and his Trophy Room retail space, features nods to the 1985 All-Star game in the shoe’s design, which took place in Indianapolis (where All-Star 2021 was supposed to take place) and was MJ’s first All-Star appearance.
The “Rumor Has It…” printed on the insole is a reference to the rumor that Michael Jordan was “frozen out” by some of the older players in the All-Star Game (Isiah Thomas, Magic Johnson, and George Gervin). Allegedly, these players colluded to guard each other loosely so they could rack up points, while locking Jordan down when he had the ball so he would have a bad game. Jordan ended up scoring only 7 points.
The shoe uses the classic “Chicago” color scheme and gives it white stitching and a translucent sole. The red panels feature an icy shine to them to go along with this “Freeze Out” theme. Michael Jordan’s signature appears on the heel, while the insole has an Air Jordan x Trophy Room insignia that features a similar design to the ’85 All-Star logo. Through the clear outsole, we see four stars, two red and two blue, paying homage to the uniforms of the ’85 All-Star Game.
The Trophy Room x Air Jordan 1 “Freeze Out” is releasing via raffle on February 10th (10AM-11:30 AM) on trophyroomstore.com. The shoe retails for $190 and will be joined by an apparel collection featuring a hoodie ($120), shorts ($75), and tee ($50). Check out Trophy Room’s images and promo video below.
