Original Story (04/08/22): Following the unveiling of the accompanying editorial campaign, UNION Los Angeles has now shared a look at its full “Future Is Now” Jordan capsule releasing alongside the Air Jordan 2s.
“For the ‘Future Is Now’ capsule, we wanted to juxtapose what some futuristic gear might look like after it has been worn and patina’d,” says UNION. “So often you see people’s vision of the future and is all crisp and sterile. We thought it might be fun to wear it in a little bit and make it organic.”
On the Air Jordan 2 and across the collection, UNION added external labeling as if the pieces are part of a uniform. A tag reading HO21 (when the collection was originally slated to released) is stitched onto the ankle collar of the Air Jordan 2, as well as on the pocket of the jackets and bottom of the pants. The tees, crewnecks, hoodies, and shorts come with slight distressing on the bottom hems. Rounding out the collection is a pair of Crater Slides in the “Grey Fog” colorway and a selection of caps in four colorways.
An in-store raffle for the UNION x Air Jordan 2 “Grey Fog” and “Rattan” will be open for Los Angeles customers on Saturday, April 9th and Sunday, April 10th from 9am to 3pm both days. A global online release for the shoes and the accompanying apparel collection is going down on April 15th on the UNION website. Check out the complete collection below.
Update (05/12/22): The UNION x Air Jordan 2 and apparel collection (minus the UNION-exclusive “Rattan” AJ2) will be available via SNKRS on Thursday, May 26th.
