Original Story (03/12/22): First revealed alongside the wheat/pink pair, we now have a closer look at the upcoming black colorway of the UNION x Nike Cortez.
“I feel like I might’ve made a Cortez for the non-Cortez wearer,” said UNION owner Chris Gibbs during his Full Size Run episode. While black suede covers the majority of the upper, underlays across the side panels come dressed in canvas with a blue and green striped pattern, reminiscent of traditional Dorze textiles. Another detail is the added flaps on the heels adorned with the Union Frontman logo, with Nike branding hidden underneath. The most defining quality, however, is its speckled Crater sole units.
Look for all four colorways (there’s a grey/blue and “Lemon Frost” pair too) of the UNION x Nike Cortez to release later this year via SNKRS and UNION LA. Grab a look at a sample of the black colorway below and stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for updates.

Update (06/16/22): UNION has named this upcoming collaboration the Un-Cortez. The black “Off-Noir” colorway and the “Sesame” pair launch on June 21st, while the other two colorways (“Light Smoke Grey” and “Lemon Frost”) drop in July. Official images below.
