UNIQLO & Marni Unveil Debut Collaborative Collection

UNIQLO not only provides some of the most affordable basics for any closet but has managed to stay fresh and unique through its continuous efforts to collaborate with designers and artists such as JW Anderson, Takashi Murakami, and Jil Sander. UNIQLO is now teaming up with Marni, an Italian luxury fashion house, for Spring/Summer 2022.

Revolving around a theme of “universality,” the duo’s first collaboration presents a versatile men’s and women’s offering incorporating UNIQLO’s staple pieces as a canvas for Marni’s use of colors, patterns, and fit. UNIQLO’s LifeWear ethos of providing simple and high-quality garments adds to the theme of “universality,” as the pieces are both accessible and wearable. The collection ranges from BLOCKTECH coats and tailored jackets to socks and pajamas, aptly fitting into the collection’s theme.

“I’ve been hugely excited about this collaboration since the start,” says Marni Creative Director Francesco Risso. “Throughout the whole process, we have always championed UNIQLO’s ethos and the integrity that lie behind the brand’s vision, giving our interpretation of UNIQLO’s LifeWear through a slightly out-of-the-box proposition that combines impeccably crafted clothes with Marni’s offbeat and life-embracing spirit.”

Highlights from this packed collection include a flower pattern print that can be found on skirts, shirts, and bottoms, while a plaid design is used in a similar fashion. Tops and bottoms can be seen with unique proportions and slightly skewed shapes to accentuate an effortless and natural fit of the pieces alongside dynamic color blocking that runs throughout the entire collection.

The UNIQLO x Marni SS22 collection is set to release on May 26th at 12pm EST at select UNIQLO locations and on the UNIQLO website. Retail prices range from $12.90 to $179.90 USD.
