The Ultra series, featuring Ultraman, his brethren, and the Ultra monsters, is hopping from TV screens to T-shirts in a special edition collection with Uniqlo.

Produced by Tsuburaya Productions, the shoe debuted in 1966 and has released a few spinoffs since then, the latest airing in 2019. It’s arguably one of the most well-known shows within the daikaiju and kyodai hīro genres, or “giant monster” and “giant hero” genres, respectively. Eiji Tsuburaya of Tsuburaya Productions is known as the “god of special effects,” contributing to the plethora of Ultraman productions over the last 50 years.

The collection includes a line-up of multicolor T-shirts for adults and kids, all featuring the nine Ultramen and monsters. Hero-wise, you can find pairings such as “Ultraman vs. Zetton”, “Ultraman Taiga” and “Ultraman Dyna” in black, white, grey, and muted purple and pink. The kids collection offers more primary colors that catch the eye but don the characters’ design just the same.

The Uniqlo UT Ultraman collection won’t be releasing until late April, but catch a first look at the designs below and stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for release updates.
