Vans Skateboarding has tapped Chicago-based Uprise Skateshop as one of its collaborators for the 30th anniversary of the Half Cab. Together, they present two iterations of the Skate Half Cab ’92.
Uprise, who is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, dresses the silhouette in black and red color schemes that nod to classic “Chicago” colorways. The red-based colorway comes with a black tongue and black stitching, while the black pair features red contrast stitching. Both pairs are constructed from canvas and shorthair suede and feature traditional white Half Cab tags on the quarter panel and tongue. Uprise’s text logo appears on both the inside of the tongue and as a repeating print on the insoles alongside Vans branding.
To celebrate the release, Uprise Skateshop is throwing a release party at House of Vans Chicago featuring an open skate and musical performances from Steve Caballero’s band Urethane as well as Chicago’s own Garbige Can. Readers in Chicago can RSVP for the event here.
