Vans Skateboarding Launches New Daniel Johnston Collection

After dropping a collaborative collection with No-Comply earlier this year, Vans continues to celebrate the life of artist and musician Daniel Johnston with its own inline collection.

The new Vans Skateboarding x Daniel Johnston collection was created in partnership with the nonprofit Hi, How Are You Project to raise awareness and resources for mental health. Working directly with Johnston’s friends and family, and the nonprofit organization founded in his honor, Vans was inspired to create a head-to-toe collection celebrating the artist and musician’s work as a mental health advocate and his iconic cassette-tape artwork.

The collection is comprised of footwear, apparel, and accessories and features original illustrations from the late artist. The SK8-Hi and Slip-On features Johnston’s classic hand-drawn cassette covers collaged into a custom Vans’ Checkerboard pattern, while the Authentic incorporates Johnston’s “Jeremiah the Innocent” character into the design, extending from the midsole up onto the suede upper.

Along with the three footwear styles, the collection includes hoodies, tees, a button-down shirt, and chino pants, all adorned with Johnston’s artwork. Accessories in the collection include a tote bag, socks, and a 5-panel unstructured hat.

The Vans Skateboarding x Daniel Johnston collection is available now on Vans.com and at select retailers. Check out the collection below.
