Following the release of their Summer 2022 “Needle Point” collection, KITH and Vault by Vans reunite to launch a new initiative called “Love Thy Community.”

“Love Thy Community” will highlight six minority-owned businesses, providing them with the opportunity to design their own sneakers and t-shirts — and keep 100% of the profits. The first business selected for this program is Brooklyn Blooms, founded in 2017 by florist LaParis Phillips in Brooklyn’s Bed-Stuy neighborhood.

Brooklyn Blooms has designed a floral-printed capsule that includes a Slip-On and tee. The Slip-On features a mudcloth print upper with bright flowers speckled throughout. Heels are embroidered with “BK” and “STL” hits, nodding to Brooklyn Blooms’ home borough as well as St. Louis, where LaParis is originally from. “Creating Beautiful Things Out of Beautiful Things,” the shop’s tagline, appears in handwritten font on the midsole, as well as on the back of the tee.

The Vault by Vans x Kith x Brooklyn Blooms “Love Thy Community” capsule will be available on Saturday, August 6th exclusively at Brooklyn Blooms’ Fulton Street location and online at brooklynblooms.com. The other five “Love Thy Community” projects will be rolled out in the coming months.
