Vic Lloyd x adidas Forum Low “Chicago Works Harder”

0

In early 2020, Vic Lloyd previewed two collaborations with adidas, the “Chicago Plays Harder” Superstar and the “Chicago Works Harder” Forum Low. The former released as part of the Fat Tiger Workshop x adidas All-Star 2020 collection, while the latter saw a limited release this past October. Now that adidas is celebrating a Forum revival, it’s time for the Chicago designer, DJ, and overall cultural creator to release more pairs into the wild.

Inspired by Chicago’s work ethic, Vic Lloyd approaches the collaboration on the Forum Low through the lens of a work boot. The suede uppers have a wheat-like hue to them, though an orange tint is added as a nod to basketball and FTW’s signature color scheme. The shoe comes equipped with various color pop straps that honor the blue-collar workers of the city, from the blue snow and waste trucks to the neon green and orange hues of safety vests. The tongues also feature a basketball and milk crate basket graphic inspired by Vic’s younger days spent playing basketball in the city’s alleyways.

To celebrate the release, Vic Lloyd enlisted photographer Nolis Anderson to capture a collective of the city’s hard working core gathering, showcasing that it really takes a village to keep the city moving. Vic is joined by artist and activist Vic Mensa, Chicago Sky guard Kahleah Copper, railroad engineer Chris Griffin, nurse practitioner Jasmine Scott, firefighter Vairrun Strickland, executive director of Save Money Save Lives Laundi Keepseagle, and Antoine Hall from Chicago Streets and Sanitation.

The Vic Lloyd x adidas Forum Low “Chicago Works Harder” launches on July 3rd via Vic Lloyd’s website and select retailers such as Fat Tiger Workshop, LDRS 1354, Oneness, and Corporate. Check out the campaign images below.
