Virgil Abloh and NIGO of Off-White and Human Made have released the first drop of their long-awaited collaborative Louis Vuitton “LV²” collection.
Following an initial announcement in December and a first look in March, Drop 1 of LV² includes a wide range of accessories, bags, and ready-to-wear clothing. The designers offer up reinterpretations of Louis Vuitton’s signature monogram and Damier check patterns across the board, superimposing them over one another to place the luxury fashion house’s history further across the line into streetwear. While Virgil has been LV’s menswear director for some time now, NIGO’s influence here is clear; playful, overprinted Human Made animal graphics grace many of the accessories here, ranging from a duck statuette to watches, notebooks, and scarves. The drop also focuses heavily on bags, offering up duffels, backpacks, glasses cases, and more.
Finally, the two designers offer up a set of luxury footwear. The collection includes a cozy mule slipper, derby shoes, loafers, and two variations of an ankle boot.
