Through a cryptic Instagram post, it’s been revealed that a Louis Vuitton x NIGO collaboration is currently in the works, once again bridging luxury designers and streetwear.
Full details are still under wraps, but Louis Vuitton has confirmed that the collection will include ready-to-wear pieces, leather goods, shoes, and accessories, probably combining Abloh’s goal of “relaxed luxury” and NIGO’s mainstay streetwear styles. Since Abloh was endowed as the artistic director of menswear at LV almost two years ago, he has intentionally tread lightly on partnerships until now to establish a unique “point of view” of the brand.
Long-time friends Virgil Abloh and Bape/Human Made founder NIGO are supportive of each other and the direction they want to take with the capsule, claiming “it was a full-circle moment.”
The collaboration will be named LV² (Louis Vuitton Squared) and will arrive in time for the Pre-Fall 2020 season.
