Wilson Sporting Goods is celebrating the grand opening of its first-ever retail location today in its hometown of Chicago, IL.

“With 108 years of history here in Chicago, it was only right that we start this next chapter in our hometown,” says Joe Dudy, President of Wilson Sporting Goods Co. “Wilson is so proud to be Chicago-based, and we hope this new store brings our city that same feeling of pride in our brand.”

Wilson just launched their first ever line of sportswear this past May, and have been consistently dropping new styles on a bi-weekly basis.

“Following the launch of our Wilson Sportswear line earlier this summer, it was important that we introduce physical retail locations so that our athletes can experience and interact with our sports equipment and apparel in person,” says Gordon Devin, President of Wilson Sportswear. “Our first-ever retail location centers around Wilson’s heritage, serving as a physical ‘love letter’ to our city.”

The interior decor of the Wilson Heritage Store features references to Wilson’s history in Chicago, which dates back to the 1914 with origins in the Stockyards of Chicago and the city’s meatpacking industry. Historic sports memorabilia placed throughout the store give it a museum-like quality to enhance the shopping experience.

The Wilson Heritage Store offers the full range of Wilson’s new Sportswear line for men and women, while also offering the company’s high-performance sports equipment across categories such as tennis, baseball, football, basketball, and golf. Limited edition products, such as a Chicago-inspired A2000 baseball glove, are also available and more exclusives will drop seasonally, coinciding with key sports moments.

Additional Wilson flagship stores are slated to open in the coming in months in New York, Los Angeles, Beijing, and Shanghai. The Wilson Sporting Goods Heritage Store is located at 932 N. Rush Street in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood. Check out photos of the store’s interior below.
