Wow, this year has been insane. Probably one of the best years for footwear in my opinion. All sorts of footwear companies came out of the cracks and really opened up to some amazing collaborations, as well as some great general releases too. This list was tough to finish and there are tons of sneakers I still want to include in this article. However, these are my top 10 sneakers of 2013 even though my opinion in constantly changing.

Honorable Mention: Nike Air Pegasus +30 x Road Runner Sports

This collaboration was too good to leave out even though it didn’t quite make my list, I also think this was one of the most underrated collaborations of the year.

#10 Nike Vapor Tour 9 NYC Open

Tinker worked his magic on the Vapor Tour 9, and this red, white and blue NYC Open colorway was simply amazing.

#9 Nike Air Max 1 “The Monotones” Vol. 1

Another extremely underrated sneaker for 2013, this shoe goes with just about anything..I’m still waiting for Vol. 2.

#8 Nike Dunk Hi Linen SP

Although the colorway was first done on the AF1, I think it looks better on the Dunk Hi and am extremely surprised these are still sitting on shelves. Some of the best quality Nike has produced this year.

#7 Adidas Y-3 Qasa High

SONY DSC

Although they may have took a bite out of the Roshe Run, I give them credit for doing it right and creating something that I would wear everyday.

#6 Footpatrol x Saucony “Only In Soho” Shadow 6000

This collaboration has perfected the art of color-blocking in my eyes and these were hands down my favorite Saucony to drop this year.

#5 Nike Lebron X EXT “Mint Suede”

The entire Lebron X EXT collection was a pretty cool campaign, and I personally think this is one of the best Lebron’s to drop in years. You can practically wear anything with these and although they may seem subtle, they definitely stand out in person.

#4 Nike Flyknit Chukka Grey/Red

The Flyknit Chukka was a great addition to the Nike Sportswear lineup this year and this is hands down my favorite colorway to release thus far.

#3 Ronnie Fieg x New Balance 1600 “Daytona”

Of course Ronnie found a way to sneak into this list, I think this one of his best creations to date and I’m excited to see him stepping away from the traditional single color uppers and begin to play with multiple colors instead.

#2 Asics x Saint Alfred Gel Lyte III

With MN being based out of Chicago and myself currently living here, the inspiration behind these was executed perfectly and these are a great way to rep Chicago without having to rock Bulls colors.

#1 Nike Free Run Alt Closure

I don’t know what happened to this sneaker in terms of releasing stateside and what not, but I think these were one of the best releases of 2013. You can’t go wrong with a classic speckled midsole and the subtle touch of blue webbing was the icing on the cake for me.
