Original Story (09/24/22): adidas has teamed up with the popular anime, manga, and trading card game series Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters, created by Japanese artist Kazuki Takahashi (RIP).
For this collaboration, adidas has chosen two footwear models from the Y2K era, nodding to how Yu-Gi-Oh! took the world by storm in the early ’00s. The first is the Reptossage, an obscure slide silhouette originally introduced in 1999 that features an eye-catching thermoplastic rubber (TPR) footbed, an EVA outsole, and a Velcro closure. One pair features Seto Kaiba and Blue Eyes White Dragon on the straps, while the other features Yami Yugi and Dark Magician.
The second silhouette is the ADI2000, which is actually a new silhouette but takes its design inspiration from the bulky skate shoes of the early 2000s. These also come in “Dark Magician” and “Blue Eyes” colorways. The former features a Millenium Puzzle graphic and “Dark Magic!!” on the tongues, while the latter features a Kaiba Corp logo and “Burst Stream!!” on the tongues. Each of these footwear offerings come in special packaging and come with a tag featuring a different piece of Exodia.

What they need to do is allow worldwide shipping. The Dark Magician slides were only available to be shipped to the Philippines. There are people all around the world that enjoyed YuGiOh and the fact they are limiting where these items can be shipped is utterly disgusting and needs to change.
