Original Story (03/04/20): COMME des GARÇONS is teaming up avec Nike in a spiced up reiteration of the Air Force 1 Mid. While we’ve seen the AF1 just about everywhere on the streets and the ‘Gram as a footwear staple, it also made an appearance at CDG’s FW2020 runway show during Paris Fashion Week.
While the runway show featured garments of extravagant proportions and styles, the previously unseen Air Force 1 Mid also took its place on the feet of models, complete with COMME des GARÇONS-branded socks. The shoe takes on an interesting construction. While the foundation seems to resemble the one we all know and love, there is extra padding at the collar and cut-and-sewn patches atop the heel wrap, eye stay, and vamp, though the Swoosh can still be seen stitched into the fabric. CDG also placed their mark on the ankle strap to round out the branding.
An official release date for the COMME des GARÇONS x Nike Air Force 1 Mid hasn’t been announced yet, but you can expect the drop sometime in the Autumn/Winter ’20 season. Keep it locked to Modern Notoriety for updates.
