Earlier this year New Balance released several colorways of what it termed a re-engineered 696. This shoe featured modern updates to the classic silhouette including a perforated upper, and a revlite sole in order to make the shoe as lightweight as possible. It appears as if New Balance is applying this same methodology to another classic model, the 1500.
Shown below is the “Deepwater” colorway of the newly released, re-engineered 1500. As you can see, New Balance continues the minimalist approach with this shoe exchanging the multi-material toe box of the 1500 for a smooth, one piece construction. The overall result is a very attractive and simple upper. This particular color way contains the deep blue color predominantly throughout the upper with an accent of tan leather on the heel and a white midsole to complete the package.
