Nike links with Atmos for an updated version of the classic Nike Air Max 1 “Safari” for 2016.

The early 2000’s was a great time for Air Max 1’s, as well as one of the best times for collaborations. Back in 2002-2003, Nike linked up with Japanese brand / store Atmos on a series of Air Max 1 colorways that offered a new approach on the 87 classic. One of the highlights of the series, was the Nike Air Max 1 “Safari” – a butter Air Max 1 featuring an upper that consisted of canvas, suede, safari and hits of leather.

This year, Nike and Atmos link once again on an updated version of the OG featuring a similar aesthetic. The Air Max 1 will feature a color combination of Flax/Kumquat-Chestnut, icy outsole, safari print, micro swoosh and a plush material on the toe box. Stay tuned with Modern Notoriety for a release date on the Nike Air Max 1 “Atmos Safari” here.
