While the TERREX division generally covers adidas’ performance trail needs, the Three Stripes is no stranger to paying homage to the stylistic value of hiking-inspired gear. Take, for example, last year’s Torsion TDRC or this year’s FYW XTA; both shoes are equipped with trail-ready lugs and mountain-proof construction, but they’re meant to be used by the casual walker or city-dweller with just as much success.

The brand’s newest offering, however, is significantly indebted to more obscure hiker silhouettes. The adidas SAHALEX perfectly captures the @organiclab.zip archival gorpcore style that’s relatively trendy within online streetwear and fashion circles. It takes a similar branding approach to the adidas Seeulater, another trail running classic from the brand’s back catalog; while there are zero sidewall stripes to be found on the shoe, a small embossed logo hit appears near the shoe’s heel and tongue badge.

In fact, the shoe is overall relatively minimal. A tonal durable mesh with organically-placed padding is accented by similarly-colored suede and a contrasting mesh tongue stripe, toebox, and midsole. While the SAHALEX is set to come in two initial colorways—beige and cool blue—it’s set to eventually arrive in a forest green, maroon, gold, and black (seen in images courtesy of @dreadedpath). Both shoes feature a pop of contrasting color on a small heel tab, and promo photos suggest each pair will come with matching alternate laces.

The adidas SAHALEX makes its debut on October 24th via retailers like Sneakersnstuff, Solebox, and Slam Jam. The model will also likely release via adidas’ website, though we don’t have official confirmation yet. You can check out photos of the initial and follow-up colorways down below.
