Candace Parker isn’t just a legend on the court, she’s also a powerful force off of it too. So much so that the City of Chicago has marked September 16th as “Candace Parker Day.” This comes ahead of the release of a new adidas Basketball Candace Parker collection in partnership with Dick’s Sporting Goods.

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot announced the holiday with Parker during the collection’s unveiling.

The capsule includes apparel and footwear and features a custom version of the adidas Exhibit A silhouette dubbed the Exhibit (A)ce Low, a play on Candace’s Ace nickname. It will be available in three dynamic colorways that Parker holds close to home. Details include homages to her late college basketball coach and her daughter, representing the incoming generation. The upper is ventilated, sitting on a Lightstrike midsole.

The apparel includes hoodies, t-shirts, tanks, shorts and socks for a well-rounded offering. The technicalities and performance aspects of the apparel go hand in hand with adidas’ sustainability initiatives. Parker also imprints her Ace logo throughout the capsule.

adidas has also released a new “Impossible Is Nothing” campaign film starring Parker, posted above. The film highlights female athletes and their crucial role in sports, with Parker at the forefront. Patrick Mahomes, Fernando Tatis Jr., Jackie Joyner-Kersee, Derrick Rose and Parker’s family, among others, will help with the storytelling of Parker’s career and accomplishments.

“It is amazing to see the progress female athletes have made over the last 20 years and this moment is an important step in the expansion of women’s basketball,” said Parker.

The Candace Parker Collection will be available September 23rd on the adidas website. You can also pre-order now on the DICK’S Sporting Goods website.
